Who the assessment is for
Obsidian Lily works with writers who have completed a manuscript and are preparing to make a serious decision about its future.
The assessment assumes technical competence, sustained effort, and a clear ambition for the work.
It is intended for manuscripts that are structurally complete and no longer in an exploratory drafting phase.
Minor unfinished sections are acceptable where the full structure of the work is already established.
Clients typically seek clarity rather than encouragement, and are prepared to encounter both the strengths and the limitations of the work as it currently stands.
