Opening Chapter Assessment
The First Chapter Assessment is a focused written critique of your opening chapter, intended to help you understand how the manuscript is working from the very first pages. It considers opening impact, narrative clarity, pacing, character introduction, scene grounding, and the overall reader experience, identifying both what is already working and the areas most likely to benefit from revision.
For many writers, this may be the first formal investment they make in their work. This service is designed to offer a clear and manageable starting point: structured feedback on the part of the manuscript that often shapes a reader’s decision to continue. It is limited to the first chapter only and does not function as a whole-manuscript judgment, line edit, or coaching service.
